Loveland, CO – March 10, 2025:  Colorado Campervan introduces a turn-key rooftop bedroom for flat roof enclosed trailers under the Dual Sport Trailers brand. The tops lift electronically and feature a large, 12 x 7 sleeping area with 6 vinyl windows to a create a sunny, space-saving bedroom.  An interior entrance to the bedroom is via a portal cut in the roof of the trailer.

The rooftop bedrooms are fully self-contained and ship ready to install. The electronic lift is powered by a small 12v battery with a solar recharge system.  The battery also recharges via the electrical cable of the tow vehicle.  The tri-layer windows have insulated black-out canvas, a clear vinyl layer, and a removable screen mesh. Shipped turnkey to the OEM, the tops can be installed in about 10 man-hours.

“I was looking for a trailer to haul the families’ motorcycles into the woods and to races, but in a small footprint trailer that could sleep four. And I still wanted to be able to store the motorcycles securely inside at night or while watching races”, said Derek Weber, Colorado Campervan owner.  “A standard toy hauler isn’t designed to do that, plus has a lot of living space I would pay for a not need.  I realized a cargo trailer can meet all those needs if we move the sleeping area to the top.  The sleep on top design created the storage I wanted, plus a sleeping area for four, all in a 16-foot trailer.”

“This re-defines toy hauling, stow and stay trailer”, said Chris Gorski, Director of Sales, “By moving the sleeping area to the roof, toys stow safely inside. Family sleeps well away from the garage and the associated motor related odors. In addition to hauling motor sports toys, I see market opportunities in the equestrian, racing, soccer tournament and hunting space.”

Features of Dual Sport Trailer tops:

  • Large cargo space and sleeping for four in a 16-foot trailer
  • Sleep safely away from fumes, oil spills – in a comfortable, airy upper berth with 360° views
  • Toys and equipment remain securely inside at night
  • Reduces the size and cost of the towing vehicle
  • Less need for trailer windows

The rooftop bedrooms can be shipped as a complete component to the OEM ready to install, or without shell or in other partial forms in instances where the OEM prefers to use their own colors or materials.
