E-Van Introduces Fully Integrated Composite Body For Electric Commercial Vehicle Market At ACT Expo
Elkhart, Indiana– E-Van, the composite body division of Embassy Corporation, will introduce its new Electra-Flex composite van body integrated with a Sevna chassis mounted on an electric chassis designed for the commercial vehicle market. The E-Van composite body and full vehicle will be featured at Booth 4883 at the upcoming ACT Expo to be held in Anaheim, California, April 28 – May 1, 2025.
“The E-Van proprietary body provides real world solutions to many of the concerns surrounding the transition of commercial vehicles to EVs. Lighter weight increases potential range, the composite construction enhances durability and repairability, and the enhanced thermal protection provides greater heating and cooling efficiency,” said Mike Schoeffler, CEO of Embassy. “With a range of wheelbase options and configurations, we can provide the best body for step vans, work trucks, delivery vans and buses.”
The E-Van Electra-Flex Body provides owners, fleet operators and commercial vehicle dealers with a range of features to meet nearly any potential application:
- Broad customizable options, accommodating chassis wheel bases ranging from 158” to 208” in body lengths from 15 to 20 feet, resulting in cargo capacity of 669 to 892 cubic feet.
- Composite construction provides reduced weight and R-10 thermal protection on walls, roof and floor, enhancing operating efficiency and overall vehicle range.
- Uniform 70” interior height, providing maximum flexibility for use in step vans, work trucks, delivery vans and buses.
- Custom anchor points are installed into the walls and floor for the broadest range of potential use, including shelving, E-track, tie-downs and more.
- Available window and door options, including composite rolling door, hung door or solid rear wall to further enhance the range of potential commercial uses.
- Composite construction provides for enhanced durability and repairability, which is essential for the tough environment where most work vehicles operate. Damage to the van body can be addressed with a simple fiberglass repair rather than extensive replacements.
- With overall body weight ranging from 2,250 to 2,950 pounds, the E-Van body provides a lighter weight alternative for commercial vehicles. When integrated with the Sevna cab, the E-Van is far more aerodynamic than traditional cab over options, enhancing efficiency of operation and EV range.
“The E-Van body is a testament to our engineering and design ability, translating into new products that can make a strong impact in our industry,” said Schoeffler. “The composite body provides the most flexible, customizable solution for the electrification of commercial vehicle fleets and we look forward to partnering with customers to accelerate this transition.”
